National Doctors’ Day is observed to honor and acknowledge the efforts made by the doctors to the society. Doctors are the brain and vital members of any healthcare system. In India, this day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy who also served as the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. Doctors’ Day is being celebrated in India since 1991. Apart from being a doctor, Mr. Roy was also a philanthropist, freedom fighter, and is considered the man who shaped modern Bengal. He was also among the very few individuals to obtain both F.R.C.S. (Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons) and M.R.C.P. (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom) degrees simultaneously. Government and non-government healthcare organizations take the opportunity to thank doctors for their contribution.

A Doctor is the only person next to your guardians who wish you speedy recovery when you are sick. And when you are not sick a doctor is busy researching and administering medicines to protect you against diseases.

Doctors are highly respected in the world, in which they are worshipped in India. By the way, man is not capable of comparing him to God, but the doctor has achieved this status through his work. Life is not human, but death is in the hands of God, but now God has given the right to give experience to a person by making him a doctor. We call this life donor a doctor, who gives birth to us, as well as sometimes saves us from death. In the field of medicine, doctors have progressed day by day. Today, a doctor can cure the most significant diseases. With the help of the wonders of science, doctors can reach here today.

The importance of doctors has come to the forefront this year with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s not that they were not there before, but with the virus spreading far and wide they have been working non-stop for 24 hours with little to no rest. They are there to ensure that patients recover fully, and with the number of infected cases rising daily, hospitals are overflowing with patients. So, it is only fair that doctors have a day to themselves, like National Doctor’s Day.
