Tasting Indiscipline
Tasting Indiscipline
“Health is like money; we
never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.” ~ Josh Billings
We all have
those cravings or thoughts that go regularly in our mind of junk food, we talk
to ourselves at several occasions that, ‘Yeh Khaliya Toh Kya Hoga? I’m toh just
having a bite and for a change na, nothing will happen.
And
eventually, I feel this is where the problem originates from. The urge of
trying what is not suitable for our health but our tongues’ favorite, what to
do?
I totally
understand this game being a teenager. I’m aware that often taste buds in our
tongue overpower our brain and eventually we have a bite of it and oh boy, it
is all over with a satisfaction which comes after a great job is done well. We
often have a smile after consuming it. I am sure you can relate to it.
Where to
stop, when to have that kind of self- discipline, saying, now I have had my
share (maybe more than my share) and now I’ve to stop otherwise it will be
troublesome not for someone else but for Me.
Well, I have also
had my imbalance in food habits but I somehow feel that yes, I am in control
now.
So how? Honestly,
it is all about the mindset you carry forward in your eating habits. No matter
how tempting the stuff might be, or how tasty it may be, if you are truly convinced,
from deep within, you gonna win the battle sooner or later if not immediately.
Secondly, for me I have tried to divert my attention to other things, engaging
myself in some useful stuff. If at all, food then why junk – is the conviction
that has helped me fight these urges. Thirdly, when we are preparing the list
these days while stocking before a lockdown, I purposely do not order those
yummy but unhealthy treats. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.
At last, I
feel if we are strict with ourselves in these new normal times, we certainly
will be able to deal with anything in life.
So let’s
fight all this together and let’s prove to no one but to ourselves and see the
kind of ability we have in ourselves which somehow we never realized earlier.
So take this
as a golden opportunity, n crack it out no matter what!
So true dear ....
