Story- An Unforgettable Incident that I Took Part In.

An Unforgettable Incident that I Took Part In...

Either so happy or too scary incidents become unforgettable in life. Luckily for me, it was a pleasant one. We represented our school- The Sanskaar Valley that is in Bhopal in an inter-school cricket competition held in Dehradun- the capital of Uttarakhand.  Out of eleven players of the team, I was a part too. For me, it was a golden chance to prove how good I can be.

There were many expectations from me that, I will perform well and do my best. Wondering about these things, sometimes it made me anxious and even worried.

It was my first tournament and I was really looking up to it. The tournament was held between 14th to 18th of March. On 13th March, we went towards Habibganj railway station, Bhopal. As soon as we sat on the train, we sang and hummed a few melodious songs, danced on a few beats as well as playing cards.

We arrived at Dehradun at 7 am. It was a bit nippy and taking no chance we all were advised to wear something with full sleeves.

The first day went in registrations and practice matches. The next day, was our match against The Modern School of Delhi “Now is the time, I’ve to give it all!” I said to myself. The first ball I threw was a wide ball; the second had gone for a four. I was not getting disheartened but thinking of the strategies of my bowling style. But the next ball I threw, it straightway hit the middle stump. I could not believe, I did so!

I jumped out of happiness. I had motivated myself in each way I could.

In that match, I took three wickets, which seemed to be unbelievable for me. I got to know my bowling style and each ball that I delivered was a different one.

The second match was a crucial match for the Sanskaarians. This match was all about our love for our school and most importantly my self-respect and my expectations. This match was crucial as it was the semi-final.

Whether it is final or any small game who wants to lose. The match was against a team of Mumbai, which looked too experienced and professional.

My morning alarm rung, I quickly wore my cricket gear and with God in mind, but my first step on the ground. My hands were shivering like anything. I was desperate to do well. We won the toss and elected to bowl. The captain of the team handed the ball to me.

The moment I delivered the first ball, I could see the wickets flying in the air of the opponents. Call it lady luck or fruit of success; I did my school, my team, and myself proudly. News traveled fast and wide. On our arrival at school, we are treated like Gods. No matter where I reach in life, this incident is going to be unforgettable for sure.
