A Story That Takes Place In Extreme Weather Conditions...

A few days before, our relatives came to our place and shared their memorable and pleasurable experience of their trip to Kashmir. By hearing their conservation, at that very moment, I being a 14-year-old boy became super excited. As a teenager, I always wanted to explore!

The next day was the 16th of JanMy best day, my 14thbirthday! The moment I woke up, the first thing dad told me was to go near the table. I was not sure why he is saying so.

Immediately, I went and jumped out of my skin to see a ticket for Kashmir. I was delighted and was jumping out of joy! Instantly, I hugged my dad and we got set to go! It was the best that my dad could ever do for me!

I could not wait to reach the destination. On reaching was awestruck by the amazing beauty and scenic view all around us!

‘Oh wow! What a stunning sight,’ I exclaimed. I could not dream of a better sight than this! I was glad to see such a gorgeous place in our country. I was proud of the fact that it is in our country- India! After a few hours, we decided to go for a picnic.

Subsequently, we searched for a good picnic spot.
‘There I found one!’ I exclaimed. We quickly went and settled there.

Unexpectedly, a few hours later snowfall took place. A few minutes later, a bit more heavily and after five minutes, it was heaviest!

‘The snowfall was now continuous and nonstop! Unfortunately, we were far away from our destination. The only option left was-to bear the snow. Is there any option besides it, I wondered…

We could barely see anything; our vision was unclear because all around was just snow! Everything was covered with it. It had blocked numerous roads. At that very moment, I could realize the real side effects of snow. Honestly, I had never- ever seen such a destructive snowfall. I was shocked and stunned. I just could not believe it.

It was six in the evening; the snowfall finally subsided. We took a deep breath and could not forget to thank God for keeping us alive. Luckily, my dad remembered his friend who was in a senior position in the army. He has straightaway informed him. As soon as possible, he sent a helicopter to rescue us. ‘There is the helicopter, right over the top!’ I exclaimed. We were delighted with the fact that the helicopter arrived on time. And at the right moment! This trip has left me, with some valuable lessons in life.
