Discipline.

Discipline that made many people are like stars, has also shown stars in the daytime to many. This is the most frequently mentioned word in many biographies and autobiographies. Yet many cannot practice it.

An undisciplined action can destroy our whole life. Discipline is like a virtual boundary according to which we lead our life, and it makes us disciplined and capable of living in society.

In recent times of pandemic, its importance has increased manifold. It needs a great sense of discipline to follow lockdown, social distancing, and high standards of hygiene.

Discipline by people all over the world is going to save this world.

Be Disciplined and be a Minimalist

Keep your home stocked with stuff that you need but do you really need to hoard?

Be Disciplined and Stay Indoors:

The call for self-discipline is paired with the call to love thy neighbor. “Love and self-discipline belong together, even more, these days,” they say. By keeping social distance and “holding back from unnecessary contact, we are able to show our love and concern for those who are most vulnerable,” they add. As restrictive measures continue to be imposed in some countries, the Lutheran leaders say this may call for assessing practices regarding gatherings and worship. They commend the Asian member churches for the example they have given and urge all other churches to take necessary steps to contain the virus and virus and protect the vulnerable.

Market and Trade Discipline

COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus, is a zoonotic disease, meaning it originated from an animal then shall we not put a ban on the consumption of Wild Animals? As said by WWF: If meaningfully enforced, in other words, if disciplined action is taken, the ban in China could be a game-changer. WWF urges other countries to quickly adopt similar prohibitions and regulations to reduce zoonotic disease risks and prevent future outbreaks. 'We are calling for urgent action to close high-risk markets and end illegal and unregulated wildlife trade that impacts biodiversity and threatens human health and our existence as we know it.'

With 97,278 loss of human lives across the globe. I am sure we all can appreciate the importance of self- discipline. To show the impact of self- discipline, one can marvel at the recovery of 3,66,444 corona cases.

In India, we need to channel all our will power and practice self- discipline like never. As the 21- day pan India coronavirus lockdown grinds on, Indians face their biggest test yet: self-discipline. Let us learn from other countries and maintain self-discipline.

Moving Beyond these New Normal Times
Discipline will Always be Helpful

To help lead a Stress-free Life:

As one gets the habit of doing every work within the stipulated time, the fear of deadlines does not affect. Young children have ample time to concentrate on extra-curricular activities. They can develop hobbies that act as stressbusters later. Students in higher classes have routine study time. If they are more prepared for their exams for sure they do not have the last-minute tension.  Discipline lets you overcome laziness. As one follows the social norms, they have amicable personal lives also.
We can Stay Happy and Active:

Discipline boosts our self-confidence. We can be proactive and plan all our work.  By having self-control, we become careful about the words we use and our behavior. We will not hurt others knowingly or unknowingly. We can lead a conscious life and are aware of our deeds.
We can Develop Leadership Qualities:

Discipline teaches us to be responsible. We can practice consistency in life and observe the well-defined rules. By taking the right decisions at the right time we can be regarded as a natural leader.

Discipline Enhances Mental Strength:
Self-discipline is the base for mental toughness. It gives the willpower required for facing challenges and adversities. Restraint and practice help us to determine our weaknesses. It also increases our tolerance levels.

“Discipline is wisdom and vice versa."

– M. Scott Peck.
